The University of Birmingham also has its own on-campus accommodation, Edgbaston Park Hotel & Conference Centre | Hotel in Birmingham and has kindly offered delegates a discount, which is only available via email (reservations@edgbastonparkhotel.com) or phone (Tel:01214148888), quoting the code BASEES.

The discounted rate is £128 Bed and Breakfast (Single Occupancy) for Tuesday – Thursday nights inclusive and £125 Bed and Breakfast (Single Occupancy) for Friday to Mondays inclusive.

Peter Scott House is a smaller on-campus conference venue that also houses twin and double bedrooms on site and is available to book via email (enquiries@edgbastonparkhotel.com) or phone (Tel:01214148888).

Warning – Scam/Phishing

It has come to our attention that fraudulent email addresses are contacting our conference speakers regarding accommodation arrangements for the BASEES conferences. Please be advised that these messages are scams.

Please be assured, this isn’t a data breach. It appears to be a new tactic being used more widely by scammers to target conference speakers. We believe they are obtaining names from the publicly available programme listing (please note that we do not publish email addresses) and then search for those individuals online to find publicly listed contact information and reach out directly.

Neither BASEES nor Meet Birmingham are affiliated in any way with this or any other travel agent. Please ignore any such calls or emails, and block the sender if you have received one of these messages.

As previously noted, we are working directly with Meet Birmingham (also known as WMGrowth) to provide a selection of approved hotels. Please do not engage with any other individuals or organisations. If you are ever unsure, contact us directly by email.

If you have shared your credit card details with an external company or with anyone who contacted you about booking accommodation for the conference, please contact your credit card provider immediately, inform them of the scam, and dispute the charge.

We take data privacy and security extremely seriously. Your contact information is not shared with third parties, and these agencies do not have access to your details through us.
